About Our Team

Dr. Carter

Dr. Carter graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 1982, and earned his DMD from Temple University Dental School in 1987. He began practicing dentistry in Philadelphia, then moved to Hamburg where he practiced for nine years. In 1998 he moved to Topton and purchased this practice in 2002.

Dr. Carter has been asked to lecture about the treatment of sleep apnea with dental appliances and has spoken about the topic of forensic odontology in the past. He is a member of the following associations:

Besides building a successful practice, Dr. Carter is the father of two sons, Tyler, 13, and Jackson, 4, and does it all with the help of his wife Suzanne. He understands small town ethics, family and professional excellence.

Our Team

Each member of our staff functions as a unique and invaluable component necessary to achieve our service goals. Our team is comprised of hard working, friendly people who know how to work well with others and maintain efficiency, while providing gentle, personal care. Our staff's years of education and experience make them an asset to Dr. Carter and all of our patients.

Elizabeth: Receptionist

Elizabeth is our receptionist and the first person you will speak with when you make an appointment and enter our office. Her welcoming personality help patients feel at ease with the dental experience from the start. Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Science degree from Kutztown University and also works as a caseworker in the social service field of children and youth. She is a Certified Massage Therapist and is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

Elizabeth is the mother of three, a daughter in her sophomore year of college and two teenage boys who keep Mom busy playing travel ice hockey at the Jr. A and AAA level.

Debbie: Dental Hygienist

Debbie is one of our dental hygienists. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Association and the Lehigh Valley Dental Hygiene Association. After graduating from Northampton Community College with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene, she began her career. Debbie has worked as a dental hygienist for three different dentists in Pennsylvania, and is a huge asset to Dr. Carter’s practice.

Her hobbies include cycling, gardening, spending time with family and traveling. Debbie is looking forward to trips to Alaska and eventually Italy.

Sherry: Dental Hygienist

Sherry is our other dental hygienist. She has a strong interest and background in periodontal health, and her expertise is an asset to our patients. She graduated from Northampton Community College with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1992, and has worked as a hygienist since then.

Her hobbies include cooking and spending every spare minute with her husband and children.

Diana: Expanded Function Dental Assistant (E.F.D.A.)

Diana is a member of the Pennsylvania Expanded Functions Dental Assistants Association. She graduated from Harcum College Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with a certificate in Expanded Functions. She has been in the dental field since 1981. Diana attends continuing education courses throughout the year to stay current on new dental techniques and materials.

She enjoys Bible study, traveling, history, gardening and playing the flute. Diana is an avid reader and very involved at her local church. She enjoys teaching Sunday school and spending time with her husband and their two sons.
